Sulfonated poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride)-poly(ethylene glycol)-silica nanocomposite polyelectrolyte membranes for fuel cell applications
Article Abstract:
A method is described for preparing highly conductive and stable organic-inorganic nanocomposite polyelectrolyte membranes with controlled spacing between inorganic segment and covalently bound sulfonic acid functional groups. The organic-inorganic nanocomposite is identified as a remarkable family of polyelectrolytes, which has provided new technological applications in high-temperature electrochemical devices including ion separations and electro-chemical sensors.

Lateral mobility of polyelectrolyte chains in multilayers
Article Abstract:
The lateral mobility of polyelectrolyte multilayers is examined by using the fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP) method, taking into consideration the effect of relevant parameters during and after preparation. The effect of heating or annealing in electrolyte solution after preparation is investigated along with the embedding of the probing layer at controlled distances to the multilayers surface.
