Structure and properties of acidic protons in anhydrous dodecatungstophosphoric acid, H3PW12O40, as studied by solid-state (super 1)H-(super 31)P SEDOR NMR
Article Abstract:
The binding position and the electronic properties of acidic proton in anhydrous dodecatungstophosphoric acid, H3PW12O40 are studied by means of (super 1)H, (super 31)P spin, echo double resonance (SEDOR) NMR techniques. (super 1)H broad line NMR spectrum showed a bell-type resonance line shape with 4.7 kHz line width and magic angle sample spinning (MAS) NMR spectrum has a single resonance peak, suggesting that the hetero-polyanion PW12O40(super 3-) provides a single site to the acidic proton.

States and dynamic behavior of protons and water molecules in H3PW12O40 pseudoliquid phase analyzed by solid-state MAS NMR
Article Abstract:
Three protonic species namely, isolated acidic protons, H3O+ and H5O2+ were differentiated for the first time by solid-state MASNMR in the pseudoliquid phase of H3PW12O40.nH2O (0 User Contributions: Comment about this article or add new information about this topic: Article Abstract: A study was conducted, with the sulfation of a manganese dioxide catalyst in the oxidation of methanethiol, to understand the behavior of manganese dioxide. The result shows that at high temperature, manganese dioxide is strongly reduced and is converted to a moderately active manganese sulfate phase while the reaction proceeds.
