Synthesis and characterization of organofunctionalized MCM-41 by the original stepped templated sol-gel technology
Article Abstract:
Phenyl, 3-aminopropyl, 3-chloropropyl and N-aminoethyl-aminopropyl functionalized mesoporous molecular sieves MCM-41 are successfully synthesized through the grafting method, the conventional templated sol-gel technology, and the original stepped templated sol-gel technology. The superior properties of the currently adopted preparative methods are gathered and helps to increase the crystallization degree of R-MCM-41 with saved crystallization time as well as abundant content of functional groups.

Emission spectroscopic investigation of triplet diarylcarbene generated in molecular sieve VPI-5
Article Abstract:
An attempt is made to generate and characterize a triplet carbene, bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)carbene ((super 3)1), in zeolites Y and L and in a molecular sieve VPI-5 in which a possible dimerization and reaction with the precursor of carbene are significantly retarted, thus making the triplet carbene longer lived than in solution at room temperature. A triplet carbene was generated and characterized in a zeolite for the first time and shown to be stabilized extrinsically.

Concentrating profiling of a molecular sieve membrane by step-scan photoacoustic spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
The quantitive, non-destructive determination of the concentration profile of an organic molecule in a nonporous polycrystalline zeolite molecular sieve membrane by step-scan IR photoacoustic experiment and analysis were reported. The implications of the technique for understanding structure-property relationships in materials deposited as membranes for molecular sieving applications are discussed.
