Template-induced inclusion structures with copper(II) phthalocyanine and coronene as guests in two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded host networks
Article Abstract:
The host-guest architectures of copper(II) phthalocyanine (CuPc)/1,3,5-tris(10-carboxydecloxy) benzene (TCDB) and coronene/TCDB were achieved with hydrogen-bonded two-dimensional networks of (TCDB) as host networks and CuPc and coronene as guest molecules, when host and guest molecules coadsorb on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG). The scanning tunneling microscope is used to investigate the monolayer structure of the networks of TCDB and the inclusion of host-guest systems.

Identification of the preferential-bonding effect of disubstituted alkane derivatives using scanning tunneling microscopy
Article Abstract:
The effect of double functional groups on the supramolecular structures and particularly the hydrogen bonding between the different substituted groups involving HO(CH2)(sub 15)COOH is examined. It is concluded that the different assembled structures of these molecules on the graphite surface reveal the preferential COOH- - -COOH interactions.
