The effect of chemical states of dopants on the microstructures and band gaps of metal-doped ZrO2 thin films at different temperatures
Article Abstract:
The microstructures and band gaps of sol-gel derived ZrO2 thin films incorporating seven-transition-metal ions (Cr(super 3), Mn(super 2), Fe(super 3+), Ni(super 2+), Cu(super 2+), and Zn(super 2+)) were investigated at 550 and 950 degree Celsius. Results of the study indicated that the chemical states of the dopants play pivotal roles in controlling the physiochemical properties of the metal-doped ZrO2 thin films at different temperatures.

Distillation kinetics of solid mixtures of hydrogen peroxide and water and the isolation of pure hydrogen peroxide in ultrahigh vacuum
Article Abstract:
The results of growth of thin films of crystalline H2O2 and H2O2.2H2O (dihydrate) in ultrahigh vacuum by distilling an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide are described. It was found that the different crystalline phases, water, dihydrate, and hydrogen peroxide, have very different sublimation rates, making distillation efficient to isolate the less volatile component, crystalline H2O2.
