ToF-SIMS studies of sulfuric acid hydrate films
Article Abstract:
A variety of sulfuric acid hydrate films, formed by the co-deposition of SO3 and H2O on a cooled substrate, have been analyzed using time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS). The films were produced using procedures developed in recent infrared spectroscopic studies.

Synthesis of high quality single-walled carbon nanotube silks by the arc discharge technique
Article Abstract:
A thick hollow graphite as cathode in the arc discharge to prepare silk-like SWNT materials with the same quality of the SWNT collar is demonstrated. A simple chemical treatment involving immersion in sulfuric acid and nitric acid is used to align SWNTs locally in the silks.
