Structural and phase behavior of self-assembled DPPC-DNA-metal cation complexes
Article Abstract:
The structural and phase behavior study of self-assembled dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC)-DNA-[Me.sup.2+] complexes prepared from different DNA and metal cations are reported. The role of different cations ([Ca.sup.2+], [Mn.sup.2+], [Mg.sup.2+]) in promoting and stabilizing the DNA condensation into the ternary complex is examined.
