Syntran Company Ltd exhibited two of its latest computer output devices that can be used to receive data directly at CeBIT '99 in Hannover, Germany, from Mar 18, 1999 to Mar 24, 1999. The firm's CamPrint device can be connected directly to a digital camera to access and print the images without going through a computer. Similarly, the FaxPrint device can be connected to a printer and a phone jack to receive incoming fax messages.

Toshiba tackles production of notebook computers in Europe

Toshiba Europe GmbH, based in Regensburg, Germany, runs 16 lines of the U- line cell system, enabling the company to produce 40,000 notebook computers monthly on single-shift system and 80,000 units on a two-shift system. Company president Hisatsugu Nonaka stressed the company targets to secure a 30% share in the notebook computer market in Europe, adding that one out of four notebook computers in the region is a Toshiba unit.
