Winter CES Displays Highlight Overlap of Market Interests

The 12th Winter Consumer Electronics Show was held during January in Las Vegas, Nevada. There are an estimated 90,000 attendees and 1,300 exhibits at the show. Telephone and home computer systems represent the products that are most in demand. An increase in demand is directed towards video systems. The United States is expected to be worth $22.3 billion, a 16.14 per cent increase in sales from consumer electronic products in 1984.

A Second Look at CRT Displays: Higher Resolution, Lower Strain
Article Abstract:
Studies are being conducted on the display tubes used in computer systems. Factors under review include brightness, flickering, focus, control and line displays. Interlace and progressive scanning methods have been reviewed to eliminate flickering on the screen. Brightness and glare techniques are essential to eliminate eye strain.
