Cellular mobile phone manufacturers will be out in force at the 1984 Summer Consumer Electronics Show. Already there are estimates that units will sell for under $1000 by the end of the decade and predictions that there'll be a phone in every car that now has a stereo. High-end installation specialist auto electronics dealers will be the keystone of the cellular market.

CES Spotlight Falls on Video
Article Abstract:
The consumer electronics show, held in January 1984, brought a total of 91,245 people. Numerous manufacturers showed 8mm video for format products. Compact discs, tapes, and floppies were also displayed at the show. New technologies in telephones, such as automatic alarms to police and fire stations, were unveiled at the show.
