Improving the Efficiency and Saving Cost in Coupler for High-Speed Data Transmission
Article Abstract:
Acoustic couplers have expanded information systems with the advantage of not needing installation. A microphone, modulator and demodulator comprise the system. Acoustic couplers have different methods for connection than modems. Nippon Telephone & Telegraph screens acoustic couplers. The users must realize telephone lines are not modified for data communication, noise, signal conversion, or evenness. Couplers, once used only by laboratories, are used more generally now and the prices have dropped to 99,800 yen. It will be necessary to reduce the cost further to put the price within reach of personal computer users. New styles in handsets must still conform to standards. Transmission speed is now up to 1,200 bps. Photographs and diagrams of acoustic couplers are included.
