Internet fax performs six roles in network use

Matsushita Graphic Communication Systems Inc. offers the FreePort SP-100 Internet facsimile that directly links to a local area network (LAN). This enables the SP-100 to perform six roles, serving as a copier, a network scanner, a fax gateway, a network printer, a G3 fax and as an Internet fax. Aside from conforming to the Internet Engineering Task Force de factor world Internet standard, the product is compatible with Internet fax standards that the International Telecommunication Union is pushing for.

FaxRISC microprocessor gives fax power for high-volume tasks

Murata Manufacturing Company Ltd of Japan has developed the MFX-1500, F-98 and F-65 Muratec-branded facsimile machines, two of which feature 32-bit FaxRISC microprocessors. The Muratec MFX-1500 fax combines faxing, printing and copying capabilities. As a fax, it transmits at a speed of roughly six seconds per page. With options, users can send faxes at speeds of three second per page and send and receive faxes simultaneously. Like the Muratec F-98, the MFX-1500 carries a FaxRISC microprocessor.

Sharp's 600dpi plain-paper facsimile machine offers wireless multi-tasking capability. Aside from delivering color documents at 600 x 600 dpi, the machine, FO-2150CM, also provides computer faxing, printing, copying, phone and scanning functions through an infrared interface that enables wireless data exchanges between the fax and a computer, a personal digital assistant or a digital still camera. Moreover, the FO-2150CM features 38 automatic-dial keys on the control panel for simple operation.
