JVC amplifies on light amplification for projection systems
Article Abstract:
Victor Company of Japan Ltd. (JVC) uses a unique light amplification technology to ensure true Super XGA image definition among its LCD projector models. The technology, called direct-drive image light amplification (D-ILA), is used in the company's reflection-format DLA-G10 and multimedia LX-D700 LCD projectors. The DLA-G10 fully displays XGA images with 1,365 x 1,924 dots at a brightness of 1,000 lumens (ANSI). This allows the DLA-G10 to cast images as large as 527 inches at a 93% aperture rate. In addition to XGA, the DLA-G10 also handles images from other sources, such as Hi-Vision, personal computers and workstations. The LX-D700, meanwhile, features optical tune-up technologies and a polarization characteristic conversion system. Using a 150W Ultra High Power lamp, the LX-D700 has a brightness of 750 lumens (ANSI).
