Maury Regional Hospital adds a help desk to IT mix
Article Abstract:
Maury Regional Hospital, which comprises a number of hospitals and clinics, has launched its first formal help desk to address increasing requirements for training and support. As a result, more than 600 staff will most likely be using new personal computers at nursing workstations within the hospital system by Dec 31, 1997. Future help desk programs include adding a Sequel Server in 1998 and supporting remote locations as Maury Regional consolidates with other hospitals and medical facilities.

Grant Thornton launches IT center
Article Abstract:
Accounting and management consulting firm Grant Thornton has launched its Information Technology Center which is aimed at supporting users in its Philadelphia, PA, Boston, MA, and New York, NY, offices. The center is a centralized help-desk operation that runs on royalblue's Helpdesk for Windows. The firm plans to rollout the center to its 48 offices in 2000. In addition to improved support, Grant Thornton also aims to improve its productivity through the use of the center.
