NEC HE adds to DLP lineup, aims for 10 percent of projector market

NEC Home Electronics Ltd is adding a series of small digital light- processing (DLP) and the GT Series of big, high-brightness DLP projectors to its current lineup in an effort to capture a 10% share of the surging global market. The GT Series delivers a brightness of 6,500 ANSI lumens, while the MT-830 has a luminance of 1,250 ANSI lumens. The additions will be launched at the InfoComm International trade expositon slated on Jun 10 and 13, 1999, in Orlando, FL.

Sharp's Digital Full Color Multiple-Function Machine Adopts Tandem Engine

Sharp Corp. (Japan) has introduced a full-color digital multi-function machine to the Japanese and United States markets. The LIBRE Color AR-C160, priced at 1.57 million yen, adopts a tandem engine which develops four colors in a series, and in 9.8 seconds, the model prints the first color copy.
