Novartis Pharmaceuticals has entered into an outsourcing agreement with Billerica, MA-based Wang. The multi-million dollar contract involves the use of Wang as the single point of contact for the employees of Novartis who will need help in the procurement of hardware and software, new desktop system installation, software support and hardware problems. Wang will cover software packages that include Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Windows NT and Lotus Notes.

Engineering firm adds help desk services

Global engineering and architectural services company HDR Inc has expanded its partnership with Inacom to include help desk support services. HDR's in-house company help desk center operates from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Central time, but has offices in all other time zones. However, the firm has made arrangements to use Inacom's Help Central Support Services, which provides night and weekend coverage and will therefore give HDR 24-hour help desk support.

Pfizer Inc., Byte Ltd. outsource to 4Front software

Pfizer Inc and Byte Ltd, two companies based in the UK, have awarded contracts for help-desk outsourcing services to 4Front Software International Inc. The contract with computer retailer Byte Ltd covers a $1-million-worth of software support for its customers for a one year period. The contract with Pfizer Inc is an expansion of an existing agremeent from $2 million to $3 million to include support of its internal corporate help desk.
