Office Security
Article Abstract:
Many organizations, rather than maintaining their own security service, will engage an outside agency to perform this service. In order to ensure the success of a security system that will meet the needs of a particular organization, a specific contractual agreement should be designed. A sample set of guidelines is presented which includes definitions of the scope of service, the equipment, and the selection, training, wages, and supervision of personnel to be provided by the agency.

Office Security
Article Abstract:
An example is given of an embezzlement by an employee whose background was not thoroughly checked. Written tests conducted by the personnel department may be adequate for blue-collar jobs, but background investigations (BI) should be conducted for white-collar jobs. Investigative services, such as Brock International Security, can be retained by employers. A BI usually consists of reference checking, verification of data on the application, and a credit history check.
