Plain-paper trends write new chapter in personal fax evolution
Article Abstract:
Home-use facsimile machines are following their business-use counterparts with a trend towards plain-paper machines. While more expensive to buy and maintain, plain-paper facsimiles accept transmissions that are easy to store and have a longer storage life. Analysts say these advantages have pushed the market share of plain-paper facsimiles from more than 10% by Sept 1998 to 20% during the second half of fiscal 1998.
