Toshiba Document Filing System Approach to Optical Disk File Storage
Article Abstract:
The filing of documents accounts for ten per cent of office operating expenses. DC-2100 is an easy to operate document filing system. It uses a direct read-after-write (DRAW) optical disk, CCD-based scanning method, high-definition digital conversion and electrograph and thermal sensitivity printing methods. A disk can store up to 20,000 A4 page images. The use of a retrieval system provides for easy and quick access information, either directly or by file name. This system is being integrated into local area networks (LAN). There are charts on document filing systems.

Office Automation Manufacturers Need to Capitalize on Distribution Life Cycle
Article Abstract:
Manufacturers are concerned with the most effective means for distributing office and business products. The decline in equipment prices and the increase in customer bases has made it difficult to support the cost of direct sales. This has resulted in the sale of products through mass merchants and department stores. Business equipment centers and business discount stores are two new channels that offer an alternative to direct sales.
