Versatile Facsimile Machine Offers Multiple Capabilities

The Multifax series of facsimile products includes the 7100 and 7200 models which can be integrated into multiple-speed networks with international capabilities or into proprietary, closed networks. With a list price of $2,495, the Multifax 7100 is an entry-level, CCITT Group III facsimile product that includes as standard features a thirty-page document feeder, automatic reduction, thermal printing, and a security password. The Murata Super Express (MSE) data compression technique enables the Multifax 7100 to offer transmission speeds as fast as twenty-four seconds per page at 9600 bps. The Multifax 7200 is a fully featured network-level Group III facsimile device that also features the MSE data compression technique. Its list price is $3,495, and it offers full international compatibility with CCITT Group I, II, and III standards. There is a photograph of the Multifax system.

The offices use a Panafax MV-1200 network. Each office has a fax machine offering long-distance comunication services.
