The consumer electronics industry had its best year ever in 1984. The prospects for 1985 appear to be just as good. Growth is projected in virtually every product category, including video, audio, autosound, computers, and telecommunications. However, a slowing economy, lower demand, or a market glut that lowers profits could temper the optimistic projections.
