Bellport Group, Bellingham dissolve their partnership

Bellingham Marine Industries Inc and The Bellport Group have decided to end their management partnership due to several problems including different visions for the future and customer complaints about working with the competition. The partnership started in Jan 1998 and has since obtained outstanding results with operation. The newly formed company changed its name to The Bellport Group. However, Bellingham began getting resistance from Bellport's marina management competitors which led to Bellport investors' acquisition of Bellingham's interest in Marina Management International.

Polaris says record sales offset litigation loss in '98
Article Abstract:
Polaris Industries Inc, a personal watercraft and snowmobile manufacturer based in Minneapolis, MN, said a 23% increase in net income for the third quarter of 1998 helped offset a litigation loss of $61 million. Excluding an after-tax charge of $39 million associated with the litigation loss, the company reported an 18% increase in adjusted net income for the quarter. The company has settled a trade secret missappropriation lawsuit filed against it by Injection Research Specialists Inc.

Retailers group signs on with Boats.com
Article Abstract:
Boats.com has signed an exclusive partnership agreement with the Marine Retailers Assn of America in Jun 2000. The transaction comes in the wake of a similar deal with the National Marine Manufacturers Ass. The two agreements will provide Boats.com with an opportunity to draw the various industry segments into one online marine marketplace. The prized endorsements of both organizations will enable them to get stakes in Boats.com, the extent of which has not been disclosed.
