Lawmakers urge permanent ban on new Internet taxes
Article Abstract:
A bill was introduced in US Congress that would permanently ban Internet sales taxes. The bill, in effect, will extend the 1998 Internet Tax Freedom Act, which imposed a three-year moratorium on new, special and discriminatory taxes. The proposed legislation also calls for the creation of a national 19-member advisory panel to make recommendations on taxing electronic commerce.
