Quicken Loans pushes direct lending

Quicken Loans is about to launch a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign to disseminate its direct lending capabilities by conducting direct response marketing test programs. The test programs will include TV, Internet ads, e-mail, direct postal mail and a sweepstakes promotion. Quicken's recent acquisition of mortgage financier Rock Financial Corp will enable it to become a direct-to-consumer mortgage lender.

Countrywide trains agents to handle online calls

Mortgage company Countryside Home Loans Inc of Calabasas, CA, has launched a cross-training program for its call center staff. The company said that the training would enable its agents to also handle inquiries generated from its electronic commerce site, thus, boosting the efficiency of its customer-response system.
