Delco Remy International Inc. is dropping its marine business by selling in middle of August 1998 particular assets of its Marine Corp. of America (MCA) engine unit in Franklin, IN, to Brunswick Corp.'s Mercury Marine division, which is based in Fond du Lac, WI, for an undisclosed amount. In addition, Delco Remy also sold the assets of its Marine Drive Systems unit in Peru, IN, to Indianapolis, IN-based International Marine Systems LLC for an undisclosed sum. Marine Drive Systems is a manufacturer of stern-drive propulsion systems for recreational and commercial water vehicles, while MCA marinizes diesel engines and supplies boatmakers in Europe, the Middle East and North America.
