Merkley Newman Harty to partner with Eisnor

Merkley Newman Harty (MNH) and Eisnor Interactive Inc, both based in New York, have entered an alliance that will give the two advertising agencies access to each other expertise. MNH, the $300-million-a-year unit of Omnicom Group Inc, is expected to benefit from Eisnor's experience in Internet marketing. Eisnor, which sold a minority stake to Omnicom Group, will benefit from MNH's background in consumer marketing.

Advertising firm Predictive Networks Inc's offer to provide a profile or 'digital silhouette' of online behavior every time a prospective client visits a customer's Website is being criticized by academic leaders and privacy advocates. Critics say that the intelligent profiling technology being used by Predictive is becoming a standard tool of corporations. Predictive officials reject the criticisms, saying that they do not sell data to advertisers but instead provide them targets to sell to through their servers.

New partnership announces African-American study

Done Coleman Advertising Inc of Southfield MI, has announced a strategic partnership with marketing research firm Yankelovich Partners Inc of Norwalk, CT. The two firms partnered in the national marketing survey of African-Americans, which will available to clients in Sep 1998. The survey will identify trends in answers to similar questions that have been posed to the general market sample.
