Article Abstract:
Electronic Distribution Networks (EDN) is developing a new generation of electronic commerce solutions called the 'electronic hub,' which is different from current exchanges or portal-based electronic marketplaces. EDN CEO Mike Holland says the hub may be a phone switch that routes or directs connections through the Internet. Hollands adds that EDN's system has the capability to create electronic business communities where manufacturers, OEMs, distributors and retailers can exchange and share product and pricing information.
