Exploring new opportunities with SPF and polymer technologies
Article Abstract:
Current polymer technologies can enhance the performance of BUR, modified bitumen and single plies as labor costs for sprayed polyurethane foam (SPF) account to only 10%-15%, which is lower than 50% or more for other systems. Labors costs could be reduced further by employing robotic equipment for SPF, which can be utilized to insulate and provide another layer of waterproofing redundancy within modified bitumen, single plies and BUR.
