FTC accuses telemarketers of credit card scam

Shaumburg, IL-based Rockwell Holdings and Park Ridge, IL-based First Financial Solutions Inc. and American Benefits Club as well as an individual John E. Boone have all been charged by the FTC with perpetrating a telemarketing fraud. Consumers were offered credit cards for sending advanced fees of from $99.95 to $219.95. Most consumers received no credit cards.

Telephone upsell boosts cell-phone loyalty program

Shared Technologies Cellular tested its new loyalty program. The company declared it a success when more than half of the customers who ordered the prepaid service by telephone bought an upsell.
