Guardian Life boosts productivity with CRM system

Guardian Life Insurance Company of America of New York is using a customer relationship management (CRM) technology supplied by Cambridge, MA-based Pegasystems Inc. The system, which was installed in the life insurance firm's call center in spring 2000, provides the company with an enterprise-wide CRM system that permits easier identification of potential up-sell and cross-sell targets. The system has the added benefit of shortening training time to only two days.

Fingerhut to handle fulfillment for Wal-Mart Online and e-Toys
Article Abstract:
Fingerhut Business Services Inc has signed separate warehousing and delivery deals with Wal-Mart of Bentonville, AR, and e-Toys Inc of Santa Monica, CA. Under the deal, Fingerhut will store, package and ship orders for the Internet retailers. The company will handle the warehousing operations for both companies from its 1.2-million-sq-ft facility in Provo, UT, and will also tap its facilities in Piney Flats, TN, and St Cloud, MN, to handle fulfillment for e-Toys.

The company said that the installation of sophisticated call- center technologies is slated to be finished by next spring. The key to the upgrade is the Siebel Insurance call center software supplied by Siebel Systems Inc of San Mateo, CA. The system will be integrated with Paragon document-management softare from from FileNET, Costa Mesa, CA.
