Fishing, boating linking up for a $6M ad/PR campaign

The Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation (RBBF) is implementing a $6 million promotional program aimed at increasing participation in fishing and boating. The RBBF will finance the campaign while the National Marine Manufacturers Assn will assist in coordinating it. The campaign's promoters intend to further its objectives by starting at the grass-roots level. The RBBF was formed in 1998 to launch a $36 million, five-year, federal commitment to promote growth in boating and fishing activities.

The National Marine Trades Council (NMTC) has embarked on a campaign to acquire funds to finance a forward-looking advertising campaign aimed at promoting boating as a lifestyle. The NMTC is a confederation of regional marine trades organizations. The National Marine Manufacturers Assn, for its part, has approved the disbursement of $500,000 for the first year of its "Grow Boating" initiative, a campaign to promote boating.
