Riffage takes MP3 CD for a spin
Article Abstract:
New York's Spin magazine and Palo Alto, CA-based Riffage.com are distributing over 250,000 MP3 music CD-ROMs in Spin's newsstand issue in Jun 2000. Spin's distribution will continue for five months until Jul 2001. The first issue will feature artists such as Seeds of labor, Hotbox, Cause Way, Five Point Plan and Shapeshifter UK. Each issue would contain 150 new songs from over 119,000 artists whose music is featured on Riffage's Web site.

Mail campaign gives ticket sales a bounce

The Washington Wizards have launched a direct mail campaign aimed at increasing sales of season-ticket packages. Following a 1998 season shortened by the basketball strike, the direct mail campaign intends to lure more fans and make up for the negative press that the team suffered. The NBA team distributed over 10,000 pieces to corporate executives in the Washington DC area.
