Go Direct makes fast break to national

Go Direct TV, the New York, NY-based direct response television (DRTV) advertising unit of Jeff Meltzer Editorial Inc, will be airing its Urban Rebound infomercial at the national level starting in early Mar 2000. The 30-minute infomercial of the mini-trampoline workout system was initially launched in Jan 1, 2000, but only on selected local broadcast and cable networks. The DRTV spot will a have slight modifications, including more direct information about the product and additional testimonials.

Frederiksen-ACEI merger raises eyebrows in DRTV world
Article Abstract:
The direct response televison industry was stirred by Falls Chruch, VA- based Frederiksen Group's decision to be acquired by the smaller and financially struggling American Champion Entertainment Inc, a publicly held media company based in Hayward, CA. The merger is primarily to convert Frederiksen Group from a private to a public entity, according to its CEO Lee Frederiksen. Under the agreement, ACEI will pay $15 million in stock and cash and Frederiksen will become its CEO.

Santa Monica, CA-based Century Direct's Web site to support its Forever White tooth-whitening system direct response television commercials has been successful, with 20% of the orders coming from the site.
