2M debuts new long Prolong infomercials

The 2M Group has produced two new infomercials for Prolong International Corp. The ads, which highlight Prolong's Super Lubricant and Ultimate Car Care Kit, would be aired by Spring 2000, when car owners start thinking about cleaning their automobiles. Both products are available at more than 18,000 stores including Target, Checkers and Wal-Mart. 2M Pres Michael McGahee said his company's DRTV market research and product positioning were behind the success of the products. He added that the DRTV campaigns are the backbone for these products.

FTC charges Garvey in Enforma case
Article Abstract:
The FTC has filed charges against Garvey Management Group and Modern Interactive Technology as well as their owners in connection with the direct response television marketing of the weight-loss product Enforma System. The two companies and their owners were charged for deceptive advertising. Enforma Natural Products Inc, which was the first to be charged when the infomercial was brought up on charges in Apr 2000, had already settled with the FTC.
