Google, Yahoo settle search patent dispute
Article Abstract:
Google has filed a disclosure statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission, agreeing to pay up to Yahoo $365 million worth shares to settle two disputes amongst them. The first dispute is regarding the number of shares allotted to Yahoo under a services agreement. The second dispute relates to alleged violation of patents of Overture Services, a Yahoo subsidiary, in Google's keyword advertising system.

Judge halts Utah spyware law

Lawyers for adware maker WhenU.com won a temporary injunction in the last week of June 2004. It prevented Utah from enforcing its broadly worded anti-spyware law, the first of its kind in the nation.
