MarineMax buys Utah dealership
Article Abstract:
MarineMax Inc of Clearwater, FL, has acquired Duce Marine, a Sea Ray boat dealer in Salt Lake City, UT. The acquisition involves payment of $800,000 in cash and assumption of some of Duce Marine's inventory floor-plan obligations. MarineMax adds three Minnesota dealerships
Article Abstract:
MarineMax Inc. has acquired Cochran's Marine Inc. in a stock deal. The company will issue 723,000 of its shares to Cochran's owners to acquire the company. The acquisition of Cochran's, which operates at least three dealerships in Minnesota and had sales of $25 million in 1997, would fit well in the company. Cochran's markets the Sea Ray and Baja boat brands made by Brunswick Corp.'s Sea Ray Boats unit in Knoxville, TN. Meanwhile, Cochran's present owners will continue to operate the business. The acquisition increases MarineMax's US dealerships to 33, including five in the Midwest.
