Third-generation living spaces gaining in high-end market
Article Abstract:
People today have much longer life spans such that families may consist of as much as three generations. This has given rise to the need for senior suites in custom homes to accommodate the elderly residential occupants whose families have opted to care for them. Architect Don Evans' Polo House features a 4000 sq ft senior suite with its own kitchenette. The Redondo courtyard homes in Boca Raton, FL, have not yet incorporated third generation suites but its design is similar to that of the old 'granny-flat.'
