Midway blitzes video game market

Midway Home Entertainment, a company based in Corsicana, TX, is rolling out an intensive direct marketing campaign to support the release of its latest video game called NFL Blitz. The campaign, which is targeted to boys and young men ages 12 to 24, include offering of discount and gifts via direct mails and retail chains such as Toys 'R' Us Electronic Boutique and Funcoland. The effort also include print ads with coupons in video game magazines, which is expected to run from August 1998 to December 1998. Banner ads via Internet and television advertisements were also launched by Midway.

Sun, PeopleSoft join forces on CRM sales and service

Sun Microsystems Inc and PeopleSoft Inc have formed a strategic alliance to deliver a scalable, Internet-ready customer relationship management (CRM) solution to serve the communications and brokerage industries. The golbal alliance will offer PeopleSoft's integrated enterprise CRM solution on Sun's Soloris 8 Operating Environment and Java platforms. The two companies also agreed to conduct joint sales, services and go-to-market activities.
