The legalities and interpretations of North Dakota's Supreme Court ruling on a law suit on political polling calls using an automatic dialing-announcing device are discussed. The case throws light on the ambiguous interpretation of the national Telephone Consumer Protection Act's (TCPA) "savings clause".
