Nancy creek tunnel - an environmentally sound solution

The city of Atlanta, DeKalb County and Fulton County have agreed to work together to construct the Nancy creek tunnel to help an area that experiences recurring problems with sewage overflows. The tunnel option was found to be the most environmentally sound and least disruptive solution to the problem being faced by the existing sewer system.

Drainage tunnel lowers water table and relieves flooding

Article Abstract:

Shutting down an old iron ore mine's drainage pumps under Moyeuvre-Grande, situated in the Moselle region of eastern France, caused severe problems for the population of the town. Government initiatives to construct a 230m long drainage tunnel to lower the stagnated water table and recurrent flooding are evaluated.
