eMachines to take on RocketBoard

Irvine, CA-based eMachines and New York, NY-based RocketBoard Inc have introduced keyboards that feature several keys enabling users to directly link to various Web sites. eMachines' new keyboard is being offered together with the entire personal computer system for less than $1,000. RocketBoard will roll out its keyboard in Apr 2000 at a price of $7.95 and expects to sell 100,000 units by end of the year.

Naviant's Postcard Mailers get the word out

Naviant of Newton Square, PA, has released a marketing software solution that promises to help Web companies reach clients through the old- fashioned mailbox. The Click 'n Visit Postcard Mailer, which was launched on Dec 6, 1999, has been undergoing beta-testing since summer 1999. Naviant, which launched the product despite the reluctance of new media marketers for such old-school marketing techniques, said that tests have revealed a conversion rate of as much as 8%.
