Kmart Corp of Troy, MI, is supporting the launch of its Martha Stewart Everday Garden brand via an advertising campaign. The campaign will initially consist of 1 million 6-in-by-6-in accordion-fold direct mail pieces. It will also include print ads in consumer magazines such as Ladies' Home Journal, Life, People, Home and American Homestyle and Gardening, Sunday circulars and one 30-sec and one 60-sec television commercial that will be seen in primetime and daytime network programs starting Mar 2000.

SmithKline to launch virtual drugstore

Pharmaceutical company SmithKline Beecham of Marlton, NJ, will launch a customer relationship management program with its online partners to be called Interactive Health Risk Assessment. The program will use customer data collected by the drug company to deliver customized shelf space online and track the experience through to product sales. SmithKline is planning to form partnerships with online drugstores such as PlanetRx and drugstore.com.

Ikea carves out space in publishing world
Article Abstract:
Ikea US Inc, based in Plymouth Meeting, PA, will launch a custom-published quarterly magazine called Space to serve as a branding vehicle. The new magazine will compete with such consumer magazines as Elle Decor and Better Homes & Garden. There will be 1.2 million copies of Space to be distributed, including 500,000 copies mailed to Ikea's best customers. Ikea will also promote Space at point-of-purchase in 20 of its retail locations in Canada and the US as well as on newsstands on both countries.
