Yamaha boosts production
Article Abstract:
Yamaha Marine Group has increased production of its HPDI and 4-stroke outboard engines by 200% but has not ruled out the possibility of dealer allocation for model year 2001. The Kennesaw, GA-based company has seen its market share double in four years' time and has put all of its dealers on allocation for model year 2000. Yamaha's higher production output would focus on the 2.6- and 3.1-liter V6 models and the mid-range to large 4- strokes. These models would go largely to the saltwater and bass fishing markets.
