PMG Henderson announces several key management changes at USPS
Article Abstract:
U.S. Postal Service postmaster general William J. Henderson recently made several key management appointments. Vice president of marketing systems John Ward has been appointed vice president of finance/controller. Ward succeeds Richard Porras, who has been named USPS' new chief financial officer and senior vice president. Succeeding Ward as vice president of marketing systems is Anita J. Bizzotto, a 24-year postal veteran who has held several posts in finance and marketing. Other appointments include William J. Brown, currently VP of area operations in the Midwest who is promoted to VP of retail operations in St. Louis, MO; William J. McComb, who will succeed Brown as VP of area operations, Midwest.

Sweepstakes losing edge for magazines
Article Abstract:
The magazine industry has lower subscription rates in 1998 compared to 1997. Around 90% of the 135 consumer magazines companies has lower volumes from year-end 1998 mailings by the American Family Publishers (AFP) and Publishers Clearing House (PCH) stampsheet houses compared to 1997. The survey also showed that subscription response rates for magazines sold through AFP declined by 37.4%, while those sold through PCH dropped by 29.2%.
