PWC industry fights latest 'bad rap'
Article Abstract:
An Izaak Walton League has released a report lambasting the already besieged personal watercraft (PWC) industry. The report claims that PWCs are highly polluting, noisy and conflict with the enjoyment of other outdoor recreational activities including canoeing and fishing. The organization is demanding aggressive regulation in all branches of government, better education of PWC operators and the use of improved technology for cleaner-burning engines. Personal Watercraft Industry Assn Exec Dir Larry Lambrose, meanwhile, claims that the report is just an attempt to discredit the industry.
