Sir Frank Lampl, Bovis Construction Group chairman, is seeking a merger partner active in design. Bovis, a fee-earning contractor, wants a design capability for build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) infrastructure projects. Lampl wants to undertake such projects in Thailand, Malaysia and China. Such a partnership would allow Bovis to double its volume of work.

Article Abstract:
Tarmac, the largest construction concern in the UK, has seen strong interest from potential purchasers of its housing division. Some enquiries have related to the whole of the business, while others have focused on part of it. The division saw profit fall 54% in the six months to Jun 30, 1995, with turnover down 11% to 191.7 million pounds sterling.
