1993-97 Toyota Corolla
Article Abstract:
The 1993-1997 Toyota Corolla models come in the four-door sedan and four- door wagon body styles and are offered in the Standard, DX and LE trim levels. The 1.8-liter engine gives the DX and pre-1996 LE models quicker acceleration and stronger passing power than the base sedan's 1.6-liter powerplant. The automatic transmission generally works well with the 1.8- liter engine but is slow to downshift for passing. The suspension provides a stable highway ride and absorbs bumps better than some larger cars.

1998-99 Toyota Corolla
Article Abstract:
The 1998-1999 Toyota Corolla models are slightly larger and more powerful than their 1993-1997 predecessors and are only available in the four-door sedan body styles, which in turn are offered in the base VE, CE, and top- of-the-line LE trim levels. The 120-horsepower, 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine in this generation fails to deliver a sharp jump off the line from a standstill position, but these appealing new models feel stronger at higher engine speeds.
