Some investment trusts also offer savings schemes and all those surveyed included Alliance, Scottish Investment, Finsbury Growth and Merchants allow you to make regular investments or make lump sum investments. The types of investment include general, capital growth, and income growth.

The simplest type of split-capital trust issues two types of share like income, wherein the shareholders receive all the income from the trust during its life and the capital, wherein shareholders receive all the capital growth.
