Buying a copier
Article Abstract:
Users of high-volume photocopiers can buy, lease or rent. Leasing tends to be popular, as the cost of purchasing such a machine is high. The only way of obtaining a machine of this kind is direct from the manufacturer or through a dealer. Leases tend to run for 3-5 years. There are operating leases, whereby the user owns the lease for a limited period, and finance leases, whereby the user pays for the full value of the machine over the period of the lease. There are tax implications depending on how a machine is paid for.

The need for speed
Article Abstract:
The choice between high-volume and low-mid-volume photocopying machines will the depend on the size of a company's output. Companies which produce over 10,000 photocopies monthly will need a high-volume photocopier with an output of 50 sheets a minute or more. If output is less than this, a low/mid-volume photocopier may suffice. Maintenance is lower for high-volume machines and the cost per sheet is lower, but they are more expensive, and account for just 13% of the market, according to Dataquest.

Assess your needs
Article Abstract:
Purchasers of high-volume photocopiers need to evaluate their needs before choosing a machine. They should work out how many copies they take and then add 30% to allow for expansion. It is not easy to decide on a speed. There is a big difference in functions and features between machines of different speeds. The evaluation of needs should enable companies to determine whether they will be making lots of single copies or multi-copies of the same sheet, which is also a factor to consider.
