Some cars are easier to steal from than others and manufacturers have incorporated a range of safety features such as deadlocks, alarms and immobilizers. These can deter thieves or take them longer to overcome. Lockable wheel nuts can prevent alloy wheels from being stolen and etching the registration on windows can deter thieves. In tests, the Vauxhall Vectra 1.8i was the hardest to break into. The Toyota Avensis was the hardest car to steal but relatively easy to break into. The easiest car to steal from was the Fiat Marea.
